  We need to have a good IATSE Local 481 turnout so we can also lobby for stronger support of our Maine Film Office. If we don’t do this, who will?

  While the bill may change from its current draft, the impact is clear: this bill will harm injured workers and roll back workers’ rights.
  We know the workers compensation system is a vital lifeline for injured workers, and it needs to be improved, not weakened. It's already difficult to navigate and LD 1571 would make it much worse. If you can't attend the hearing, please call your state senator and state representative and tell them you Do Not Support LD 1571 and ask them not to vote for it if it comes to a vote on the floor. 
  If you or a fellow worker you know has had a significant experience being injured at work and navigating the workers comp system, please call the Maine AFL-CIO at 207- 622-9675.
