Sisters & Brothers,

  Our training and education programs are one of most important membership benefits of our local. Every member in Good Standing is able to participate.

We offer a wide range of educational opportunities so you have a chance to acquire new skills, become familiar with new equipment & new technology, learn how to work safely on our jobs and to help you build your career. Successful completion of several of our classes will get you an industry-recognized certificate or an OSHA certification. Some of our training you just could not get anywhere else.

  During our last training cycle, almost 1 out of every 3 members of our local participated in at least one training & education event. More than likely that member attended more than one during those 12 months. If you were one of those members, you know how worthwhile and useful our classes and workshops are.

  There are three reasons our local is able to offer meaningful training opportunities:

  1.  Members want to be trained.

  2.  Members want to share their knowledge, expertise and experience.

  3.  We have the support of vendors, manufacturers and dealers in our industry.

  Without all three components, we would not have an effective training program. 

  Our local has made a substantial commitment to training with Gregg McCutcheon as our full-time training coordinator guiding our efforts. A significant percentage of our office staff’s time is dedicated to training & education support activities. Our training is fully supported by our Executive Board, our Safety & Training Committee and our departments that have Steering Committees. 

  Join your sisters and brothers in the coming months by attending as many training events as make sense for you and by volunteering to make our program the best it can be.
